A signature is one of the things that shows a person’s identity. Everyone should have their own signature, and each person has a unique style of signature. There are many types of signature styles.

Typically, a signature is created using the first letter of the name. It can also be the person’s name with interesting touches. Some signatures are complex, with various lines and unique images, while others are simple and concise without any additions.

There are many signature styles, but this article will explain 3 of them that you need to know, according to the theory from Dr. Erika M. Karohs’ book.

Three Types of Signature Styles

1. Signature Artistic

With an artistic signature that is accompanied by the same type of text the writer is self-assured and in most cases an independent thinker. He rarely conforms to what the more conventional people expect. The writer uses creativity and originality to depart from what is conventional. This is often aided by a strong aesthetic sense.

They like to be viewed as trendy, fashionable, and unique. But, if a plain looking text accompanies a more ornamental signature, the writer is putting up a façade, wanting to appear more assured and extroverted.

2. Corrected

The next style is the corrected signature. In this types of signature styles, the writer is trying to cover up character deficiencies, which are painful for him to admit and which he tries to hide from others at all costs.

The writer is calculating in covering up his alleged shortcomings in order to create a more favorable impression of himself. However, instead of improving his adaptation in certain areas of his life, he only escalates his difficulties because others can sense his insincerity.

3. Deformed

In this signature style, the writer has suffered or is experiencing emotional trauma that is exceeding his inner resources. He is overwhelmed by demands and can no longer find suitable means to cope emotionally with the problems.

The Relation Between Signatures and Personality

Signatures and personality are closely related. The shape, position, lines, and elements within can reflect the owner’s personality. Furthermore, we can also notice a person’s character from the size of their signature and the underline.

There are many more ways to analyze a person’s character and personality from their signature.
